'Queerskins: ARK' Premieres at Venice

This week marks the premiere of ‘Queerskins: ARK’ at the Venice Film Festival’s VR Expanded program! Reprising the creative process to contribute to this rich, kinetic installment of Queerskins with Illya and Cyril has been an honor. Along the way, we have layered objects, atmosphere, and 360° stereoscopic capture devices to create Mary-Helen’s attic. We have captured the textural elements of a beach at sunrise using aerial and 360° photography to create a small slice of virtual heaven. We navigated the relationships between visitors and dancers inside Intel Studios’ 10,000-square-foot capture stage. We have journeyed into the unknown, and while Queerkins: ARK premiers amid a pandemic, we are still finding ways to connect through shared virtual experiences.
